JOHN MAUGHAN left Croke Park on Sunday with plenty of food for thought after watching Mayo’s All-Ireland final opponents Kerry crush Derry in the second semi-final.

“Kerry look very classy,” he said yesterday, “and when you consider they had no Seamus Moynihan and were forced to play for 40 minutes without Darragh Ó Sé and still came out on top with plenty to spare, they are going to be very formidable opponents in next month’s final.

“Among several things we can take from our game with Fermanagh, is the ‘never-say-die’ attitude of our players. They asked serious questions of Mayo like no other team has done this year and, to a man, we answered them.
