Players involved in Omagh brawl could face lengthy bans

FOUR of the nine Dublin and Tyrone footballers charged yesterday with offences relating to the incidents in last week's torrid League tie in Omagh are facing the threat of lengthy suspensions.

Tyrone's Owen Mulligan and Kevin Hughes, along with Dublin pair Bryan Cullen and Peadar Andrews, face additional charges under the rule which deals with "misconduct on the field" and sets out penalties ranging from eight to 48 weeks, depending on the gravity of the offence.

Eight weeks is the minimum term for discrediting the Association.
