Wexford probe final incident

WEXFORD GAA officials have launched a investigation into an incident in the Starlights-Sarsfields county senior football final.

During the second-half, Sarsfields player Niall Sheil sustained a broken jawbone in an off-the-ball incident.

The County Disciplinary Committee has initiated a full investigation following a request from Sarsfields, who are annoyed at the alleged unprovoked assault on their player.

The disciplinary committee, having discussed the latter at a meeting on Wednesday night, decided to accede to Sarsfields’ request.
