Kelly scraps plans for ‘official’ players’ body
The issue has been a source of conflict with the GPA for almost two years, but Mr Kelly accepted yesterday that the idea of a players' body governed by Croke Park was now a non-runner.
He said the volte-face has been brought about by a number of discussions with inter-county players who advised the GAA president that the formation of a rival body to the GPA would only cause further division.
