Teenager Alan O’Connor rattled in a brace of goals for Ballybrown at the start of the second half, however, Garryspillane veteran Frankie Carroll found the net at the other end, and at 1-11 to 2-3, the city side knew it was all over.

Taking inspiration from the Ryan quartet of David, centre back, James at midfield, and T.J. and Donie up front, the Bouncers were just two points ahead 0-5 to 0-3 after 20 minutes before Tom O’Donnell, Carroll, T.J. and Donie Ryan left eight points between them (0-11 to 0-3) at the break.
