Croke Park to host Camogie and U-21 finals as double-header
Both finals have clashed with each other time and again in recent years, much to the displeasure of both parties but particularly the camogie fraternity who have long lobbied to have the third Sunday in September to themselves.
More than once in the past, a county has been represented in both games, meaning supporters had to choose between games which have often been played on different sides of the country.
News that both competitions will share HQ on their big day should end any such problems and ensure a greater attendance as well.
GAA President Sean Kelly said that the format would be tried for the next few years before a decision is made on whether to continue the practise or find another formula.
