Hope for Browne after laser treatment

WATERFORD hurling captain Tony Browne is having specialist laser treatment on his injured ankle in a frantic bid to prove the medics wrong and lead his side in its defence of its Munster title against Cork at Semple Stadium on Sunday week.

Hope for Browne after laser treatment

The inspirational skipper suffered serious ligament damage when he went over on his ankle in the early stages of the semi-final replay against Limerick, and though he struggled on for a short while he eventually had to be substituted.

The immediate prognosis confirmed Browne's worst fears about the seriousness of the injury, and the Mount Sion club man was given little or no chance of being fit for the final.
