THE establishment of a database of GAA membership will be a mammoth task and may take up to four years to complete, according to director-general Liam Mulvihill.

But, it will be hugely beneficial to every level of the association, Mr Mulvihill said"At the push of a button on our computerised system, we will know how many clubs a person has been in membership of during their career. Or how many times they have transferred or how many times they have gone to play in New York or in the North American Board area.

"Every aspect of a player's movements, such as transfers or suspensions, will all be recorded.
