Dramatic Lisgoold fight back forces replay with Muintir Barra

Carbery champions Muintir Bháire looked to have booked a meeting with Rathpeacon when they held a commanding four-point advantage, 2-8 to 1-7, with two minutes of injury time having elapsed. But Lisgoold had other ideas, as super-sub and converted corner back Charlie McCarthy saved a dramatic draw.

Firstly, he collected a peach of a pass from captain Barry Ahern to billow the net. Then, with the very last kick of the match, his glorious soaring point ensured a replay.

It had looked like curtains for Lisgoold, as Teddy O'Donovan side footed to the net for the second major to apply what appeared to be the coup de grace with 10 minutes remaining. However, Lisgoold spoiled the party to fashion a deserved draw.
