Fahy’s exit a heavy blow to Galway ladies

ALL-IRELAND ladies football champions, Galway, have been dealt a severe blow for the new season with victorious manager PJ Fahy deciding to step down from the position.

Fahy’s exit a heavy blow to Galway ladies

Fahy has been one of the key figures over the past few years, which saw Galway emerge from the wilderness to capture their first Connacht and All-Ireland ladies senior football titles this year.

He had indicated his decision to step down at the end of this year because of his extensive business commitments, while he also wanted to devote more time to his other main sporting hobby, greyhound racing.

Fahy, a keen hurling fan who has been heavily involved in fundraising activities for Galway Hurling Board, made his first foray into ladies football five years ago when he sponsored the Galway U-16 side that reached the All-Ireland final.
