Cork makes changes for clash with Decies

CHAMPIONS Cork make two changes from the side which defeated Kerry for tonight’s Munster MHC semi-final against Waterford at Páirc Uí Chaoimh (7pm).

Stephen White (Ballygarvan) replaces Joe Jordan in the half-back line, while Padraig Finnegan is preferred to Stephen Moylan in attack.

The selectors have also made a number of significant positional switches. Ross Cashman moves from corner-back to centre-back, while Eoin O’Sullivan goes back into the corner with White taking his place at right half-back.

In the full-forward line, Paudie O’Sullivan moves from the left to the right corner, with Finnegan at top of the left.

The Waterford selectors have made one change from the side that defeated Clare. Michael Coleman comes in for Kenneth Kearney at right corner-back. In two position switches, Chris Ryan moves to full-back from right corner, while Richard Foley and Frank Galvin swap places.

A notable inclusion for Waterford is goalkeeper Adrian Power, who attends school at Coláiste Chraoibhin in Fermoy which made him eligible for the Cork vocational senior hurling team. In the recent All-Ireland final against Tipperary, Adrian scored three goals in five minutes to give Cork the title.

Tipperary keep faith with the team that beat Clare in the first round for tonight’s semi-final against Limerick in Kilmallock.

Meanwhile, the Munster Council last night said the provincial SHC tie between Cork and Waterford will be played at 2.30pm on Sunday, May 22. The game has been brought forward an hour at the request of RTÉ.
