Draw to be shown after Munster final
The draw will see one of the eight first-round winners (Down, Louth, Sligo, Meath, Carlow, Monaghan, Westmeath and the winners of Donegal v Wicklow) being drawn against one of the eight defeated provincial semi-finalists (Armagh or Derry, Cavan or Tyrone, Leitrim, Roscommon, Kildare, Wexford, Clare and Limerick).
Teams who have already met in the provincial championships will not be drawn against each other.*
Should this happen, the second team drawn will be moved to the next fixture.
Meanwhile, the Leinster Council is making extra family tickets and group passes available for Sunday week’s hurling final in Croke Park between Kilkenny and holders Wexford because of the non-availability of the Hill 16 terrace as a result of the U2 concerts in the stadium over the coming week-end. Tickets can be obtained from the Council offices at Mountmellick Road, Portlaoise, (Telephone 0502 82000; Fax: 0502 20398).
*These will definitely include Leitrim v Sligo, Carlow v Wexford and Westmeath v Kildare. Depending on results from the weekend’s matches these may also include Wicklow v Kildare (if Wicklow beat Donegal), Monaghan v Derry (if Derry lose to Armagh), Down v Tyrone (if Tyrone lose to Cavan), Donegal v Armagh (if Armagh lose to Derry and if Donegal beat Wicklow).
