Waterford’s three changes for Clare tie
Séamus Brenner has been recalled between the posts in place of Clinton Hennessy; Tony Browne comes in at right-half back for Brian Wall, while Paul Flynn replaces Dave Bennett at full-forward. The Lismore man picked up a hand injury against Galway.
Positional switches see Tom Feeney move from corner-back to full-back with James Murray dropping back to the corner from centre-back; Fergal Hartley goes to centre-back from full-back, while Séamus Prendergast moves out to centre-forward.
In football Waterford have also made a number of changes from the side that was thrashed by Cavan, for the trip to Navan on Sunday to play Meath.
Tom Wall replaces Eoin Cunningham in goal; Eamon Walsh comes in for the injured Trevor Costelloe at left-corner back, while Seán Dempsey will partner Gary Hurley at midfield with Kieran Conway stepping down to the subs’ bench.
There is a vacancy at left-half forward. Liam Ó Lionáin, who carries an injury into tomorrow’s U21 Munster semi-final duty against Limerick, will start in the senior game provided he doesn’t aggravate the injury.
Eamon Walsh and Pat Hurley will also be on U21 duty tomorrow.
Ciaran McDonald returns to the Mayo team for Sunday’s crucial National Football League tie against Kerry in Castlebar.
The team captain didn’t play in last Sunday’s victory over Tyrone because of injury, but comes in for Trevor Mortimer in his customary centre forward position.
The other change sees Ronan McGarrity replace the injured James Gill at midfield. Cavan manager Eamon Coleman has named the same 15 that thrashed Waterford for Sunday’s home tie against Louth.
Michael Lyng (hamstring), Anthony Forde (illness) and Pierse McKenna (suspension) were all unavailable.
Westmeath have made four changes from the side that lost to Kerry for Sunday’s crucial game against Tyrone at Mullingar.
David Kilmartin and John Brennan replace the injured Dermot Healy and Rory O’Connell with Kilmartin lining out in the centre-half back position and Brennan named at midfield. Colin Galligan is introduced at left-half forward with Michael Flanagan moving to full-forward.
Former Allstar defender Philip Jordan will make his first Tyrone appearance of the season at Mullingar on Sunday.
Jordan, who has been plagued by injury for the best part of two seasons, starts at left-half back against Westmeath.
Kildare have included current county minor midfielder John Fogarty at full-forward in a very experienced line-up for tomorrow’s Leinster U21 FC game against Laois in O’Moore Park, at 2pm.
