CLARE hurling coach Anthony Daly claimed last night that attempts have been made to undermine the Banner’s senior set-up, but insisted these “undercurrents” would not succeed.

In the wake of the controversial resignation of the Banner’s long-time physio, Colum Flynn, Daly rejected suggestions of ‘turmoil’ in the Clare camp, saying the set-up ‘had never been as good’.

In a statement, he warned: “It’s my opinion that since I was appointed there have been undercurrents which, it would appear, were designed to undermine the Clare senior hurling set up and these have been reflected in a number of ways.”
