SEAN KELLY has no intention of removing the ex-presidents from their membership of the committee which vets motions in advance of annual Congress.

In a stirring address, the GAA President criticised the "convoluted system" which was roundly criticised when all of the Rule 42 motions were rejected. He added that when knowledge of the rules was "the preserve of a few," it conferred a certain power on them which was "unhealthy and undemocratic."

Interviewed later, Mr Kelly stressed that it wasn't his intention 'to get rid of anybody.'
