ULSTER Council chiefs have no “principled opposition” to their provincial football final being held at Croke Park this year, instead of the usual Clones venue.

The possibility was raised some time ago when it was realised an Armagh versus Tyrone clash was possible. Potential demand would far exceed the 35,000 capacity of Clones’ St Tighernach’s Park.

The matter has not yet been formally considered as this year’s Ulster championship is still in its formative stages.
