Paper defends Ó Cinnéide article

NEWSPAPER bosses at The Kingdom in Killarney last night stood over the contents of a controversial interview this week with former Kerry captain, Dara Ó Cinnéide.

In the interview, the Gaeltacht star bemoaned the influence inter-county football was having on club action in counties like Kerry, but has subsequently insisted he did not say that the Kerry team was “destroying” club football in the county.

However, the newspaper stressed yesterday that all comments attributed to Ó Cinnéide were correct and accurate.
