Cup history tome released

The Story of the O’Donoghue Cup, 1954-2003 is published this week to mark the golden jubilee of the trophy presented annually to the winners of the East Kerry senior football championship.

The Cup commemorates Dr Pat O’Donoghue, a well known general practitioner, who, despite dying at the age of just 47, gave outstanding service to the people of Killarney and surrounding areas.

The book will be launched by Uachtarán CLG, Seán Kelly, himself an O’Donoghue Cup medal holder, in the Gleneagle Hotel Killarney this evening at 9pm.
