A GRADUAL phasing out of Guinness’s sponsorship of the All-Ireland Hurling Championship is expected to be proposed today by the GAA’s task force on alcohol and substance abuse.

The Croke Park committee will present its findings after an exhaustive look at the impact alcohol and other substances have on the Association.

Sources have indicated that there is nothing radical in the proposals, though the GAA may appoint a liaison officer to monitor alcohol-related issues around the country on an ongoing basis.
