They were inspired by Kerry star Colm Cooper and the superb finishing of Austin Stacks sharpshooter Dara Long.

West Cork Gardaí got the early boost of a goal from Cork senior star James Masters who intercepted a Dara Long pass before racing through to rifle the ball past a helpless AIB Kerry keeper Pat Carmody.
