Manager Micky Harte has also made a number of positional changes from the side that went down to Donegal in the Ulster semi-final.
Kevin Hughes is moved from full- forward to midfield with Ger Cavlan taking over the left half-forward position. Stephen O’Neill moves from there to the left corner, while Owen Mulligan is entrusted with the full- forward position.
Down have made three changes from the side that crashed to Cavan in Ulster. Michael Higgins replaces Brendan Grent at right corner-back. Liam Doyle takes over at right half-forward from Owen McCartan, while Ronan Murtagh takes over at left half-forward from the injured Ronan Sexton.
With the evergreen Hank Traynor missing out because of a hamstring injury, Meath have moved Trevor Giles to left half-back for tomorrow’s All-Ireland qualifier with Fermanagh at Enniskillen.
Giles’s normal position in the half- forward line is filled by Evan Kelly with Shane McKeigue called up to man the full-forward berth.
Suspension and injury have ruled out two of Leitrim’s top players, John McKeon and Declan Maxwell, for tomorrow’s qualifier with Dublin at Carrick-on-Shannon.
McKeon was sent off in last weekend’s Connacht semi-final replay defeat by Roscommon and his centre- back position will be filled by Padraig Flynn, while Maxwell damaged a shoulder in the same game and will be replaced by Noel Doonan at midfield.
The Leitrim management have dropped three of the forwards that started against Roscommon, John Goldrick, Fintan McBrien and Donal Reynolds and have called up Jim Clancy, John McGuinness and Pat Farrell for their championship debuts.
Clancy will line out at right half- forward, McGuinness in the right corner, with Farrell has in the full-forward berth. Centre-forward John Guckian, who suffered a dead leg in the Roscommon game, is fit to play.
Arron Hoey, who was considered a doubtful starter because of a leg injury, has been given the green light to start with Louth in their qualifier with Galway at Parnell Park tomorrow. Hoey will hold down his customary right corner-forward position.
Longford have delayed naming their team until tonight because of the uncertainty over their clash with Waterford, which goes ahead at Portlaoise tomorrow.
Extremely doubtful are full-back Cathal Conefrey because of back trouble and centre-forward Paul Barden, who has a long-term knee injury.
