Novel clash off

THE proposed football challenge between All Ireland champions Kerry and Cork hurlers is off.

Novel clash off

Originally fixed for Páirc Uí Rinn next Sunday night with the proceeds going towards the holiday fund of both counties, the game was called off due to the unavailability of a number of Kerry players who will be on club duty at the weekend.

Cork County Board chairman, Jim Forbes said: “it was a novel idea which had provoked a lot of interest among the Cork hurlers. Unfortunately, it won’t take place this side of Christmas and is likely to fall by the wayside.”
