GAA investigate Quinn off-the-ball injury
Quinn appeared before this week’s meeting of Croke Park’s games administration committee.
The Disciplinary Committee also heard submissions from the chairman and secretary of the Clare County Board, Fr. Michael McNamara and Pat Fitzgerald, and the chairman and secretary of the Waterford County Board, Pat Joe Ryan and Seamus Grant.
No details of the 90-minute meeting were disclosed, but it is understood no Waterford player was mentioned by name.
However, it appears that the GAC are determined to bring the matter to a satisfactory conclusion.
Quinn suffered the injury four minutes from the conclusion of Clare’s Guinness All-Ireland Championship semi-final game with Waterford.
The Association’s Disputes Committee at their emergency meeting on Wednesday, dealt with no other matter than that concerning the High Court Action taken by the Killererin club in Galway.
The Committee referred the matter back to the Disciplinary Committee of the Galway Football Board and the matter was struck out in the High Court.
Killererin are protesting at being thrown out of the Galway senior football championship for their refusal to play extra time in their quarter-final tie with An Cheathru Rua.
In a separate case, the Leinster Council had their decision to support the ejection of Sarsfields from the Kildare senior football championship overturned by the management committee.
The meeting between representatives of the disaffected Cork senior hurling team and officers of the county board which was due to be held last night has been deferred for a week
The first game in next season’s Allianz NFL will feature Cork and Sunday’s All-Ireland finalists Kerry at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday, February 2.
