Thorpe denies reports he will lose the use of his arm

Five-time Olympic champion Ian Thorpe is being treated in hospital after contracting an infection following shoulder surgery.

However, reports that the 31-year-old Australian is in intensive care and may lose the use of his left arm have been played down by a spokesman for the swimmer.
