Nevin was 'trying to settle things down' before attack with nail-studded bat

John Joe Nevin's coach believes the boxer was simply "in the wrong place at the wrong time" when he was attacked on Saturday.

It is reported that the Olympic boxer's bone was "sticking out" of his leg which was broken in two places after he was attacked with a bat studded with nails.
