All three Irish boxers advance at World Championships
Ireland's boxers continue to impress at the World Championships in Kazakhstan.
The squad picked up three wins from three today as Tommy McCarthy, Michael Conlan and Jason Quigley all moved to within touching distance of securing a medal.
During the evening session, McCarthy won all three rounds of his contest against a German opponent to book a quarter-final match-up against Argentine second seed Yamil Peralta.
Earlier, Conlan and Quigley also won their last-16 fights with unanimous decisions.
London bronze-medal winner Conlan will now face the 10th seeded Vladimir Nikitin of Russia in the bantamweight quarter-finals.
Quigley will take on Hungarian fourth seed Zolta Harcsa for a medal in the middleweight division.
The trio will be back in the ring on Wednesday.
Sean McComb, Joe Ward and Paddy Barnes are all in action tomorrow.
