Heffernan collects gold medal

Ireland's newest world athletics champion has collected his gold medal.

In the last few minutes Rob Heffernan was presented with his medal at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.

Heffernan won the 50 kilometre walk yesterday to become only the third world champion in Irish athletics history.

He is due to arrive back in Dublin Airport tomorrow evening.
