O'Rourke progresses to semi-finals of 100m hurdles
Derval O'Rourke has qualified for the semi-finals of the Women's 100m hurdles with a season's best time of 12.91 seconds.
The Cork runner got off to a blistering start in her heat, but started to lose ground in the last 30m to let the other runners in.
The finish was very tight as Ekaterina Galitskaya of Russia beat her by 0.02 seconds to third while Canada's Nikkita Holder came in 0.02 seconds behind O'Rourke.
Derval will now run, as the fastest loser, in the semi-finals tomorrow night at 7.15pm.
