Mills unsurprised by appeal decision

Joanna Mills has said she is disappointed but not surprised by the decision that has seen her left out of the Irish Olympic 4x400 metres relay squad for a second time.

Mills was dropped after Caitriona Cuddihy successfully counter-appealed to the Olympic Council of Ireland, following Athletics Ireland's decision to bring Mills back into the team.

The Ballymena and Antrim athlete still feels she should be travelling to London, as she is faster than Cuddihy this year.

Mills said: "I think people are disappointed in general who are involved within Athletics Ireland…because of the way the whole thing was carried out.

"It doesn't really look good for any athlete that wants to get selected if they don't go by who runs the fastest."

In our audio clip below, Will Downing asks her about CAS and the potential of her becoming a GB athlete from around 3'40 onwards.
