There were major delays on rail services serving Heathrow airport in the UK today after a person was hit by a train.

The incident, at Hayes and Harlington in west London, affected Heathrow Express trains as Olympic-related passengers continued to arrive at the west London airport.

The incident affected all routes to and from Paddington station in London, with passengers travelling on services run by the CrossCountry and First Great Western train companies also caught up in delays.

Belgium’s men’s and women’s hockey teams arrived in London by train today as well as members of the French, Australian, Japanese, Brazilian and American teams have also used Eurostar to get to the Games.

The high-speed rail company, a London 2012 sponsor and the official international rail services provider, is providing arrival and departure services at St Pancras International for those competing and working at the Games.
