Mixed bag for Irish in Helsinki

It has been a mixed start for the Irish on the opening day of competition at the European Championships in Helsinki today.

Waterford's Thomas Barr ran a season's best as he qualified out of his heat in second place in the 400 metres hurdles, but Jason Harvey finished outside the top three of his race so is unlikely to get through as a fastest loser.
