Goal-hungry Clare claimed the biggest win of the day at Nowlan Park, with a comprehensive 28-point NFL Division 4 win over Kilkenny.

The visitors were never troubled in this game played before less than 50 spectators, with a goal from Chris Dunning and a penalty from top scorer David Tubridy (2-8) ensuring a 2-9 to 0-1 interval lead.

Clare always held a firm upper hand and added further goals on the restart from Tubridy and David Russell (1-4).

Alan Clohessy (0-3), Gary Brennan, Paul Reidy and Gary Leahy (0-1 each) were also on target for the Banner men, who are top of the pile in Division 4.
