Ireland sneak home

Ireland completed a series sweep against Kenya after edging a close encounter by four runs in a rain-affected encounter in Dublin today.

The hosts made 256 for seven in their 50 overs, Paul Stirling’s 92-ball 84 complemented by 42 from John Mooney and some lusty hitting at the bottom of the order from Kyle McCallan (26 off 21 balls) and Regan West (29 off 14).

Thomas Odoyo was the pick of an ill-disciplined Kenyan attack with two for 53 from his 10 overs.

Kenya’s reply started positively but rain saw their victory target altered via the Duckworth Lewis method to 245 from 46 overs.

And that proved beyond them despite 61 from captain Maurice Ouma, 41 from Alex Obanda and a blistering 78 not out from Collins Obuya.
