Irish sailors win race five in men’s 470 class

Irish duo Ger Owens and Phil Lawton have won race five in the men's 470 class sailing event at the Olympics this morning.

The victory moves the Irishmen down from 13th to ninth in the overall standings.

They need to maintain a top-10 position in the remaining qualification races to book a place in the medal race at the end of the week.
