Boxing championships underway in Dublin

The preliminary round of the Irish Amateur Boxing Association National Championships got underway last night at the National Stadium in Dublin.

The heavyweights dominated proceedings with Clonmel's Con Sheehan, Tommy Sheehan of St Michael's, Athy, Gorey's Niall Kennedy, Galway BC's Pat Corcoran and St Saviours' Graham Riggs all progressing from that category.
