Hatton takes stock after Mayweather mauling

Ricky Hatton ended the fight of his life flat on his back in Las Vegas on Saturday night but the gutsy manner of his 10th-round knockout defeat to the incomparable Floyd Mayweather had the ’Hit Man’ insisting: “I’ll be back”.

It was not the ending of which Hatton nor his thousands of travelling supporters had dreamed as he fell victim to two crashing left hooks, the second of which prompted referee Joe Cortez to call an end to his brave challenge.
