Glasgow gets the games

Glasgow has been confirmed as the host city for the 2014 Commonwealth Games after fending off the rival bid from Abuja.

The announcement was made in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where member countries of the Commonwealth Games Federation gathered to hear final presentations before submitting their votes.
