Sweeney wins in Chicago

Irish heavyweight John Sweeney has beaten Serbian Branko Srdic at the World Boxing Championships in Chicago, after the referee stopped the contest near the end of round four.

The Serb led Sweeney up to the middle of the third round, until the Donegal fighter forced a series of standing counts.
