Ireland qualified for next year’s ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia when it beat arch-rivals Scotland by six wickets to win the four-team round-robin European U-19 Qualifier in Belfast on Thursday.

Ben Ackland stroked an unbeaten 71 and opener Chris Dougherty contributed a valuable 36 as the home team achieved its victory for the loss of four wickets after the target was revised to 150 in 32 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis method following bad weather.
