McCullagh settles for bronze in Europe

Irish bantamweight Mark McCullough had to settle for a bronze medal this afternoon after he lost his European Union Junior Championships semi-final to Mike McGuire in Poland.

McCullough, from the Cairn Lodge club in Antrim, started well against his English opponent and also put in some good third and fourth rounds but it wasn't enough to stop McGuire advancing to the 54Kg final after being handed 35-22 verdict in Warsaw.
