Ken Doherty through to knock-out stages in Aberdeen

Ireland's Ken Doherty is through to the knock-out stages of the Snooker Grand Prix in Aberdeen after beating Joe Swail 3-0 in the round-robin stage last night.

The victory saw Doherty finish second in his group behind Australia's Neil Robertson.

Elsewhere, defending champion John Higgins also went through to the knock-out phase yesterday along with Ronnie O'Sullivan and Ian McCulloch.

The final day of round-robin games takes place today, with seven-times world champion Stephen Hendry needing victory in his final two matches to progress in the competition.
