President and Taoiseach congratulate O’Rourke

President Mary McAleese and Taoiseach Bertie Ahern have led the tributes to Derval O’Rourke who won Silver in the 100 metre hurdles in Gothenburg tonight.

In a statement, the President said the silver medal win “firmly establishes Derval as one of the leading athletes in the world today”.
