Ireland’s best swimmers begin their quest for European glory today with the start of the European Swimming Championships, which are being held in Budapest, Hungary.

The seven-strong Irish team consists of four swimmers who have already competed in this year’s Commonwealth Games in Sydney. Melanie Nocher, Andrew Bree, Jonathan Nixon and Julie Douglas all swam in Sydney adding vital big meet experience to the team.
