Four Irish boxers through to last 16 in Euro Championships

Irish boxer Roy Sheehan has beaten Michele Cirillo of Italy (37 to 19) in his opening bout of the Welterweight division of the European Senior Boxing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria today.

Sheehan will return to action tomorrow afternoon when he meets Artur Akavov in the last 16. The Estonian was himself an impressive victor in his first fight, beating Ardian Krasniqi of Switzerland.
