It's not A1 for Kerr

Robbie Kerr failed to make the most of Team Great Britain’s front-row position as a lengthy pit stop meant he could finish only 10th in the Indonesian A1 Grand Prix.

Team Canada won the race as Kerr endured a nightmare drive, finishing 10th after losing 44.5 seconds in the pits at the end of his 30th of 36 laps.

Kerr endured major problems with his left rear tyre and Britain’s hopes of a first A1GP win were dashed as he returned to the race in 15th place.

Canada’s Sean McIntosh took the chequered flag ahead of Malaysia’s Alex Yoong, with third and fourth occupied by debutants Marcus Marshall and Christian Fittipaldi, driving for Australia and Brazil respectively.

France, for whom Nicolas Lapierre took eighth place, continue to lead the championship with 132 points, ahead of Switzerland.

Neel Jani finished fifth for the Swiss, who are comfortably ahead of Brazil in third, with Great Britain dropping a place to fourth.

Team Ireland’s car, driven by Ralph Firman, lasted just 21 laps.
