Coughlan fails to qualify in men’s 110m hurdles

Ireland's Peter Coughlan has failed to qualify from the opening round of the men's 110 metres hurdles at the World Athletic Championships in Helsinki.

Coughlan finished seventh in his heat in a time of 14.57 seconds this morning in his first international event since coming out of retirement.

The athlete has had a turbulent year after stepping down from the international set-up following his exclusion from the Irish funding system.
