Allen leads Cork Forest Rally

Northern Ireland’s Glen Allen, driving a Toyota Corolla, leads the Cork Forest Rally, the sixth round of the McCauley Trailers National Forest Championship.

At the end of today’s first leg he has a comfortable lead of one minute and 3.5 seconds over Dubliner Derek Treacy in a Subaru.

Dominic McNeill in a Mitsubishi, is third, 8.9 seconds further adrift.

Brain McGillen (Subaru) leads Group N – some 16 seconds ahead of the Mitsubishi of John McGlaughlin.

Brian Lawlor (Escort) leads the two-wheel drive category.
