Carroll ready to go the distance at Helsinki

Irish number one Mark Carroll plans to compete in the 10,000 metres in the upcoming World Championships despite destroying the best of British over half that distance at the AAAs of England in Manchester on Saturday.

Carroll defied the blistering heat on the opening day of the Norwich Union World Trials to win in 13 minutes 48.90 seconds but insists his focus is on achieving the necessary mark at the longer distance to earn the right to compete in Helsinki.
