Hunter begins treatment for cancer

Paul Hunter, who lost in the first round of the Embassy World Championship to Michael Holt on Monday, will begin treatment for cancer of the colon next week.

A statement issued by World Snooker, the sport’s governing boday, today read: “Paul Hunter, having been diagnosed with cancer, will begin his road to recovery on Tuesday, April 26 at St James Hospital in Leeds.
