Donnelly declared winner of Cork 20

Late last night, Eugene Donnelly and co-driver, Paul Kiely, in a Toyota Corolla WRC, were declared winners of the Murphy Construction Cork 20 International Rally.

They had a nine second lead entering the final stage where the Subaru of Derek McGarrity/Dermot O’Gorman was the only car to traverse the stage as Donnelly crashed when he couldn’t avoid rocks and other material placed in his path. Fortunately, Donnelly and co-driver, Paul Kiely escaped injury.
